Made a last min decision to come here instead of the original fancy dinner plans. Unknowing to us, it was "Surf and Turf" Tuesday - I got a 12 oz steak, 9 shrimp, & 2 sides for about $28! Unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the broccoli as it was slathered in butter. My partner got the Texan Burger and enjoyed it. We ordered the spicy watermelon margarita and Paloma for drinks - mine wasn't as spicy as expected but they added jalapeño for me. His tasted just like juice which was unfortunate. Overall, we'd come back and our waitress was great!
Saw a movie at the theater right there so stopped by here for lunch afterwards. Group of 9 and no problem getting a table about 1pm on a Sunday. Good club type food menu and lots of beers on tap. I had a Michelada and it was great and dressed with tajin on the rim. To eat I had the Birria tacos and fries on the side. Tacos were good but man the fries were some of the best I ever had. Dipping them in ranch was the perfect compliment.
I swung by to catch some football with friends, and I had an absolute blast! There were so many TVs to watch the game--definitely kept the excitement going. The service was top-notch, and we enjoyed a few ice-cold beers while digging into some mouthwatering BBQ Nachos loaded with House Smoked Pulled Pork. Those crispy tortilla chips, drizzled with queso, BBQ sauce, and topped with coleslaw and fresh jalapeño slices, were the perfect snack! Next time, though, I think I'll ask to have the coleslaw on the side; it was a bit chilly and made everything else cool down faster than we could enjoy it!
Great food, cheap drinks, and Steffy our server was amazing! 10/10 recommend! Great food, cheap drinks, and Steffy our server was amazing! 10/10 recommend!
Following Beryl, this spot was PACKED. I'm not sure if patrons were loving the Astros game coverage, beer, the giant pretzel, or all three but it's clear they were enjoying escaping day 4 without power. Like most, I usually come to Woodsons for the pretzel...you know the one, it's bigger than your head and comes with a decadent side of beer cheese. Today, I decided to expand my palate and order a few items that were underrepresented in the photo gallery, the sleeper hits if you will. I'm glad I gave them some love, because they were all delicious. +New Fashion- I truly couldn't tell you how it differs from the old fashioned lol, but for this setting theirs is passable. It doesn't seem like a popular option, but the beer selection always is! +Sweet tea- this tea is not for the week...we're talking Chicken Express level sweet on this sweet tea (or atleast it was the night we visited) +margarita chicken- I wanted a "healthier" option, and while this wasn't exactly a healthy choice but it was delicious without being too greasy, fatty, or dry. The generous portion was a nice bonus. +onion rings- after trying these fresh from the fryer, I'm convinced every entree deserves a side of these onion rings. The batter was perfection where they arrived to our table perfectly crisp, smelling like indulgence, with a beautifully balanced in batter to onion ratio. Mmmmmmm. This simple addition really made our meal! That's it...oh wait...I guess I should admit that I also ordered the pretzel with beer cheese because how can you go to Woodsons without ordering the pretzel with beer cheese, and in an epic turn of events it reheats beautifully, and tastes just as decadent at home. Thanks Woodson's team for a delicious alternative to an ACless post Beryl house :)
Ambiance: Great dining spot with an open airy patio area and a moody/trendy aesthetic interior area. My group sat outside and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and service. I absolutely loved their burgers! The loaded bacon and onion burger was super delicious. Appetizers were great as well! They serve a variety of drinks, including beers/wine/cocktails. I would definitely go back to Woodson's. Fast service, decent pricing. Parking onsite and convenient location.
Was out and about with my friends on a Saturday night and stopped into grab a quick drink. Sat at the bar, and even though it was busy we're greeted very quickly and after a few drunk recommendations I went with the Blueberry Mojito, because I just love blueberries and it's Saturday so there are really no rules. My friend started to get hungry and ordered a brownie dessert that looked really good so I decided to order the banana pudding dessert. The drink was really light and refreshing and I'm not really hard to please but I really enjoyed the dessert. Maybe next time I come here I will be more adult like and order a meal. Who knows, when it's Saturday night, there really are no rules!
Lively Hangout Despite our family coming in during peak hours on a Sunday night, we were sat quickly. The servers were slammed, but they were running a tight ship. It was impressive to see that they were able to keep an eye on us while delivering excellent service to us and everyone around us. After having our order taken, the food came out promptly and we never had to flag someone down. The food got the job done. Big ole portions leaving plenty to be taken home later. My favorite had to the the giant pretzel. The sheer size was comical and it didn't hurt that it was both crispy and soft/fluffy. The atmosphere is lively and casual. There are also many massive TVs for the sports goers, and outside patio sections for those looking for a more imitate talking space. Overall, great spot for hanging out, drinks, sports, etc. Highly recommend if you're looking for a casual place to chill for the night.
